Barfunkel fell in love with electronic music at an early age. As a child, his favorite band in the world was Duran Duran, . When house and techno first entered the airwaves, he fell in love again. Too young (and living in the countryside) to enter the clubs, the only way to hear this music was on the radio (as Internet was still in it's infancy). Staying up late at night, listening to Tapani Ripatti's radio show (which played all kinds of club music and beyond) had a huge influence. Over the years, Barfunkel has listened, collected and played records from about every possible subgenre of club and electronic music. From soul and funk to early house and techno, into drum & bass and beyond.

Barfunkel's first forays into production happened in the mid 90's, with free tracker software. Dissatisfied with the experience, he soon bought his first synthesizers and samplers, which immediately struck him as a perfect way to make music. Ever since, he's bought (and sold) a staggering amount of music-related gear, in an everlasting quest to find the perfect setup. Currently his setup is very minimal, consisting of just a sampler, two synthesizers and a small reverb unit. As they say, less is more, which is something of a mantra for Barfunkel, in his search for his inner Robert Hood.

Morphology is a Finnish electro duo, a collaboration of Matti Turunen and Michael Diekmann. The pair has gained international popularity since 2009 with their dark, melodic and skillfully produced electro funk. Turunen and Diekmann have been musically influenced by Detroit techno, electro, electronica, vintage synths and drum machines.

In addition to releasing two albums and several EPs and singles Morphology has filled the dance floors in the UK, Scotland, Denmark and Poland as well as the domestic ones. Known for their extremely skillful, soulfully emotional melodies the duo combines elements of techno such as acid and vibrant drums to traditional electro in their own signature style.

Sleazemaster is a sleaze-producing unit of Kalle-M and TM Shuffle. Sleazemaster sounds deep, tracky, driving, dubby. Technohouse but not tech house. After a few years of pause, these overaged bastards are back in the studio and clubs.

Syntetisaattoriorkesteri Galaksin debyyttilevy, 12-tuumainen ”Pimeää Energiaa EP” julkaistiin toukokuussa 2013. Hyvin varusteltujen levykauppojen ohella intergalaktisen kopiosi voit halutessasi poistaa vaikkapa suoraan jätkiltä keikalta.

vÄäristymä

http://www.samulikemppi.com/ktkvi/va.jpg

Janne Liimatainen and Jarko Hedenius, two brothers from Helsinki, Finland, began creating music with computers in 1992. Within a few years, the computers gave way to the raw and primitive world of analogue gear. When some experimental, self-made sound-sustaining structures were added, the music began to evolve into a more unexpected and exploratory direction and vÄäristymä was born. The music was created without synchronization, without any kind of metronomic coordination, and recorded exclusively in one take. During the group’s first ten years, a lot of music was made but never published. The archived songs had to wait for the last few years when vÄäristymä started to use their archives to produce music videos with the same uncompromising spirit with which the music was originally created. Today, vÄäristymä's works can be heard and seen on many different labels.

Indigo has been a familiar face behind the dj decks since the mid 90′s. Although his history as a vj is much shorter, his visual sets have already been displayed in many events, clubs and underground techno parties. He uses only his self-made footage on the visual sets, hoping to add a lot of personal touch and to simply implement his extraordinary ideas.

Whitespace (aka. Interkosmos/ИHTEPKOCMOC) is a Turku-based VJ/artist and a jack-of-all-trades of digital/visual culture. Starting with the recently demised Butane! club in 2004, Whitespace has performed in various festivals, including UMF (Uuden Musiikin Festivaali), Konemetsä and TEMP (Tampere Electronic Music Phestival), and numerous other events – including most X-Rust clubs.
Stylistically, the visuals produced under the alias Interkosmos represent the classic noise/industrial aesthetic reminescent of the early 90s EBM/industrial video, whereas Whitespace brings abstract, starkly minimalistic visuals on screen.
