Seafloor Survey - a lovely journey with a few twists along the way make this the perfect track for the summer months! Blue Morning - Groovy bassline combined with atmospheric build ups will leave you with goosebumps all over! Supporting both tracks here. Wonderful job Tommy

Dimitri Kechagias
Superb two tracker that you can afford to miss. quality all the way with production that shines with amazing melodies and of course clever construction to keep the party going. Hand up in the air and wave them in the summery blue morning and of course your trip to the deepest places of the sea. I can write poems to describe but music says it all. Thanks very much and keep on being so selective in your choices

“ Global warming hurts. D: ” - 7.5/10

Tommy Baynen appears to be a newcomer, this being his debut everything from what I’ve gleaned…I can also conclude that he’s coming out of Finland, since he’s on Finity! Finity, in addition to bringing out the smash from acts like Syna and Ville Lope, helps out the new guys by giving them an international presence…It would seem that this is the case, though I could be wrong. Anyways, two tracks in this EP: Seafloor Survey, and Blue Morning. Let us hope for the best!

Seafloor Survey
Tommy files out a nice transitional groove to kick it off, fading in a clap to build. A synth pad cues in and builds this one even further before the mix strips down and brings forth the bassline. The synthwork really drives this one, and you hear all sorts of finely crafted sound as we progress, from the tiny acid line in the background, to the rhythm stabs, to the initial melodic synth and sidechained pads. There’s a lot going on to make this one sing! Pads rush in at the break and ebb just as quickly, to introduce an uplifting melody. The build includes effected piano, flanges, an offbeat kick, and a lot of the vibe that I personally get from tracks by Maarten Hercules; in other words, there’s a lot of bounce and melody, and this track is no exception!

Blue Morning
Blue Morning begins with a similar percussion groove, this time there’s synthwork and very present piano in the transition. A sweep brings in a transitory break that gives the pads, arp, and piano a lot of room to shine and shimmer, before the kick returns with a slightly grinding bassline. As with Seafloor, the tonal elements are what keep us moving, and the attention to detail is mint! As we strip off the percussion, the break progresses, with glitches panning across the field, and a filtered kick/snare combo slamming back in to keep the energy going. We run into another break to rebuild yet again, with a foundation of lush synthwork and out-front piano, to bring us into the transition. This one is not as uplifting so much as it’s happy-go-lucky. It has a lot of fun vibe about it, but that same Herculean groove and bounce. Good stuff!

Dear Finity,

We would appreciate if you left the northern ice cap alone…Global warming hurts. D:

Sincerely,

The World

PS – While they do sound quite similar, we are going to pick Blue Morning is our favorite…We can take a couple degrees for that one.
