Deep minimal and highly psychedelic opening track from Iboga's latest compilation. Crispy sounds, exciting samples and wonderful slow-burning groove make this a future classic and hopefully inspires many other producers.

* Antix : Circade (Random Play's Insekt Trap Mix) [Wanders EP, 2008, Iboga]

One of the biggest tracks from New Zealand's finest's excellent Wanderers album from Summer 2007 gets another remix treatment from this only-heard-Patrick-Zigon-Mental-Draining-Remix-before-and-would-love-to-hear-much-more project. Check out also other great remixes by Hyzer aka Vibrasphere and RPO.

* Tegma : Monday Star [Lo-Fi Adventures, 2008, Tribal Vision]

Or it could've been any track from their excellent new album, but since it's Monday today... I've been a fan of them since the beginning of their career and the new album really exceeds all expectations. Another top release from the Swiss label.

* True Anomaly : Trick Me [Deep Electric Mexico, 2008, Soultribe]

Another laid-back tune from Mexico's growing progressive scene. His use of both vocoder-effected and clean female vocals is very effective without ever getting cheesy. Play this to make the girls smile.

* Astronivo : Milkstronivo [Electro Inside. 2008, Blue Tunes]

Really hard to pick a favourite from this compilation that's simply overwhelming with quality, but this highly psychedelic electro stormer took my heart from the first listen.

* Perfect Stranger & DJ Pena : Ode Ao Sol (Stephan Hinz Remix) [Ode Ao Sol Remixes, 2008, Beef]

One of the biggest progressive tunes from last year gets a fresh look for 2008. You'd never guess that the familiar melody would still sound this good.

* Roman Rai : Garden Roses (Shiloh Remix) [Garden Roses, 2008, Virtual Reality]

Beautiful and quite laid-back original is turned to electro-prog monster by my long-time favourites Shiloh. The bassline is absolutely brilliant and the tune just keeps you in the grip until the end.

* Lützenkirchen : Paperboy (D-Nox & Beckers Remix) [Paperboy, 2008, Great Stuff]

This guy hasn't really made a big impression on me with his own production, but always reliable german super-duo turns this otherwise decent track into a dancefloor bomb. You just can't keep from smiling when this is played.

* Andrea Doria vs. LXR : The Beauty of Silence [Beauty of Silence, 2008, Tiger]

I came across this guy when I noticed that Minilogue had done remix for him. That one really didn't blow my mind but this latest offering has lovely and meditative feeling all over. Perfect for chilling out or calming the dancefloor for a moment.

* Khainz : Molecule [Kinky Beats, 2008, Echoes]

On the list by the recommendation from my lovely girlfriend. You can only guess what effect this tune has on her.
